Super Film Trailer Friday!

This was the trailer I saw for Across the Universe before both Live Free or Die Hard and Harry Potter. It wasn't a "real trailer" but was instead played during the Cinemark First Look Thingy. Thought it was interesting so I thought I'd look it up on the interwub.

WTF!?!?! Two totally different feels for the film. Hell! It looks like two totally different films. In fact I'd bet Accross the Universe is nothing like what the first trailer would lead us to believe about the film. The first trailer makes me think happy (but slightly dark) musical, that a wide release audience would go see. The website's trailer is more of a stylized period piece (Sad/dark (but sometime happy) film with some singing, that only a small niche audience would go see.

Looks to me like some trickery is afoot! I guess we'll find out in September.
